Dear and valiant Isak,
Thanks and congratulations on your text!
I followed and accompany the news about these inhuman, inadmissible facts.
And I have reasons to understand your fight!
In Brazil, the indigenous people were treated as inferiors, and enslaved by the Portuguese colonizers, since their “discovery" of The Country
And so they continued in the time of the Empire and in the following Republican Governments, if not more like slaves, in the strict sense of the word, forgotten, without assistance, killed by colonizers and by the diseases that the colonizers brought, to which the natives had no immunity.
Only in 2019, with the government of President Bolsonaro, did their liberation and recognition as Brazilians begin, with demarcations and individual and collective property titles.
Unfortunately, for reasons that everyone knows, including, but not only out of the desire to obtain or buy the treasures of strategic minerals that their lands have but also out of interest as remaining as geological garden animals, with their dances and folkloric rituals, to foreign tourists, European governments and NGOs supported by them want to keep them in this way, preventing them from free enterprise, from exploiting their lands and wealth for their sustenance and development.
Today we are still fighting for indigenous history and cultures (there are many ethnicities), for indigenous people who still suffer attacks and are killed; even if they are still much smaller, inadmissible; and it is to the Army, Navy, and Air Force that our indigenous brothers are protected, assisted, fed during floods or droughts, treated by doctors and nurses.
Your fight, Isaac, and that of your companions is already victorious: with and through your acts, publications and demonstrations, the world became aware of it and demands that the Canadian Government restore our dignity, your lands, and be proud of your ethnicity and values.
Again, thanks and congratulations.
